A great sadness has fallen upon us. 😭😭😭

Ruth Badger Ginsburg was a legend among liberals and progressives. Her death now leaves the chance for the Supreme Court to lean right, without question, for at least a generation to come. Besides women’s equality, she fought for marriage equality and just this summer helped illegalize discrimination in hiring against someone for simply being a member of the LGBT community.

Already Trump wants to fill her position. Members within the Senate, who were around in 2016 when Obama was still President, are playing a full 180º—instead of waiting till the next presidential-elect is in office, they say it’s “in Americans’ best interests” to get her vacancy filled now. Talk about hypocrisy!

It wouldn’t take long to fill her vacancy; stats average about 6-8 weeks.

If her death doesn’t get people rallying and voting this election year, nothing will. It shouldn’t be a rallying cry just for progressives and liberals—the right already is using her death to try and get their numbers together, and put pressure on the current Senate to get that vacancy filled, so even if Biden wins, they can use the courts to push their agenda—again, another hypocrisy, when they call judges who issue verdicts they deride as “activist judges”.

And don’t just vote during the presidential election. Vote every year. The people at local, county, and state levels pass laws and regulations that impact your daily life more than anything Congress and the President make into law.
