At 170 lbs (77 kg), I’m fat. Around 40 lbs (18 kg) more than I should be at. While I am happier with my body than I have been with for years, in terms of weight, I am not fond of people trying to have me embrace my obesity:

Obesity is the number one cause of preventive health issues—think diabetes, heart and cardiovascular diseases, hormonal issues. Obesity is something that’s easily preventable if we ate the right foods, exercised, switched out our desk jobs for more physically active jobs.
I don’t think obesity is what people meant by body positivity. The movement was started so women who didn’t fit a European ideal of stick thin models—women who are very tall, who have curves, who have stretch marks from giving birth, who have freckles and wrinkles—could be proud of their bodies. It wasn’t meant to normalize obesity.
No, your genes are not at fault. Genes only account for a small part. Most of it comes from poor diet choices, too much eating, oversized portions, not remaining active, watching the telling (TV) for hours on end instead of going out for walks and socializing.
I’m only losing the weight because I work 12-hour days in a physically active position, and because I buy one foot-long veggie sandwich to split during that shift, plus maybe one more meal after getting home. I am trying constantly hard to avoid the free vending machines that only dispense tasty, but nutrient-less, treats. Right now with a rotating schedule that allows for three days off in a row, is preventing myself from eating out of boredom, and finding things to do to keep me active—I hate following a consistent exercise routine, I find them boring.
Well, I’ve hit a plateau, but I’m much better than when I was at my worst, 270+ pounds (123 kg).
Regardless of the diet you eat, eat your goddamn vegetables. I don’t care if you’re vegan, keto, paleo, low-carb, whatever. Vegetables are the foundation for eating healthy, losing weight and keeping it off, and overall improving the quality of your life.
Don’t normalize obesity. Ever.
Body positivity is about fit, healthy women who don’t fit a European ideal. It’s not about fat acceptance. Stop conflating the two.
