Telling me I’m not like “other trans people” is a compliment I enjoy.
It’s often hard bring straight and transsexual when “LGBT” usually gears towards same-sex issues, when my rights are no longer threatened (in theory)—but the threat to marriage equality to my gay friends remains ever real.
In the ’00s, I’ve identified as a ”stone butch” lesbian; since 2014 I finally committed to get a sex change. My name change is legal; my sex change complete. As I am still attracted to women, I consider myself straight.
